Road closed after serious accident in Winchelsea

The A259 is closed in both directions following a serious accident in Winchelsea today (September 27).

The road is closed between the Monk’s Walk Junction and Parsonage Lane while emergency services respond to the incident.

Traffic is being diverted via Pett Level as police investigators work at the scene.

Police say two motorcycles and two cars were involved in the crash, which happened around 12.30pm.

Police are expected to make a statement on Monday following further investigation.

The road has been closed for several hours at the time of writing.
