The suspect is described as of Arabic appearance, aged in his early twenties, 6’, of slim build and with dark brown eyes, black short hair, longer on top. He was wearing a distinctive black and orange watch. He also has large scar on his lower left arm, and dimples in both cheeks.

Police said the girl was approached by the man who struck up a conversation with her and then proceeded to pick her up, attempt to kiss her and touch her bottom.

PC Jo Cooper said: “The girl was understandably quite scared. Anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed this incident or seen this man is asked to make contact with Sussex Police via [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 1840 of 30/07.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-org.uk).”
