Should lights be replaced?

I feel there are several places around our area where traffic lights could be better replaced by a roundabout.

My favourite site is the Brett Drive, de la Warr Road junction where almost all day we have a long queue of traffic heading toward Hastings held up right back to King Offa Way/Dorset Road junction and further, whilst in Brett Drive are three cars waiting to emerge.

Now, I also understand there is a question of pedestrians trying to cross the road at the point of the lights, but once again not so many that warrants such a massive holdup for traffic heading along both ways on what must be the worst coast road in the country.

Another snarl up point is the Harley Chute traffic lights, hopefully the new Link Road will help at both junctions but what never ceases to amaze me is that when many traffic lights go on the blink and stop working, how wonderfully the traffic manages and this has been noted all over the country for a longtime but still we have the traffic light rush hour holdups.

Another place I feel could benefit from a roundabout is the King Offa Way/London Road Bexhill traffic lights.

Almost nightly we are caught up in the lights there if coming from Hastings or Little Common whilst there are a lot fewer vehicles coming from Town Square way or the road from Sidley.

I did put this idea of a roundabout there to the council and suggested this was cheaper to maintain than traffic lights but was informed the problem is pedestrians at that junction.

I do accept this but could we not have something such as pedestrian lights at that point? When I am waiting at the traffic lights there I see so few pedestrians crossing but do accept that they do cross and must be protected, but I still feel that for most of the day a roundabout would make the traffic situation a lot better especially as the King Offa lights seem to change about every six cars especially if some are a little slower off the mark than others of course.
