Council to prosecute Scaynes Hill landowner: ‘These people are just laughing at us and that annoys me’

Mid Sussex District Council is to prosecute a landowner for allegedly building a house without planning permission.

If convicted, the owner of the former Springwood Nursery, in Scaynes Hill, could face a fine of up to £20,000.

At a meeting of the planning committee on Thursday (October 8), members were told that permission for the house was refused in April 2019 but work carried on anyway.

A Stop Notice was issued in July this year.
