The cat was found on Friday afternoon with blood on its face. After a three hour operation at the vets, a pellet was removed from behind its eye. Police said it is believed the cat, called Toby, does not wander far from its home in Stanley Road and officers are hoping someone in the area saw what happened. PCSO Margaret Walker said: “This poor cat suffered a nasty injury to his eye which was caused by a pellet from an air rifle and his eyesite in the injured eye might never be repaired. Did you see someone with an air rifle in the Stanley Road area as we believe the cat does not roam far from his home?” Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or email contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1277 of 10/11.
