Bernadette really is the BOSS!

AN UCKFIELD girl, who became the first woman commanding officer of the Sydney University Regiment in its 104 year history, has been awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross in the Australia Day honours list.

Bernadette Boss (left), whose parents live in Ringles Cross, has quite a few credentials to her name.

Educated at St Phillip's Primary School, Uckfield, and Lewes Priory School, she trained as a nurse in London and has a diploma in ophthalmic nursing.
