The magic of the orient will be brought to life at the Stables theatre, in Hastings, when pantomime Aladdin opens to festive audiences on Friday 11 December.
From the Valley of the Kings in Egypt to the market place in old Peking and on to the mysterious mountains and the hidden tomb of a mighty genie, Aladdin goes in search of a magic lamp that will fulfil his destiny.
In an explosion of colour, magic, music and dance, many favourite Stables actors return to create some of the most well-known and loved characters in pantomime: Aladdin the dreamer, Wishee-Washee his comic brother, the outrageous Widow Twankey, and the evil magician Abanazer, together with both the Genie of the Lamp and the beautiful Fairy of the Ring.
This new production features the superb dancers of the Laton Ash School of Dance and showcases rare and forgotten songs by one of the world’s greatest songwriters, Cole Porter.
From Friday 11 to Wednesday 23 December at 7.30pm, with 3pm matinees on Sunday 13 and Sunday 20 December. No performance Monday 14 December. Adults £12.50, Stables members, under-18s and groups £7.50. Call 01424 423221
