Master percussionist and Hastings resident Nana Tsiboe will be performing at St Leonards youth project Respond Academy on Sunday (October 27), at 5pm.

Nana Tsiboe has worked professionally with a list of musical legends and across musical genres, from traditional African music through to jazz and pop.

He has worked with a number of high-profile artists including the likes of Fela Kuti, Paul McCartney, Marvin Gaye, Oumou Sangare and Nine Simone.

He was born and raised in Ghana and toured the US at the height of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, sharing stages with Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X.

Sunday’s gig “A Sunday Explosion by Nana Tsiboe” is hosted by Respond Academy and local musician Reg Hendrickse.

Nana Tsiboe will be joined by guest musicians, and families are welcome to attend the event.

Admission is £6 on the door, and the performance starts at 5pm.
