Birds of prey, canine friends and Punch and Judy are all set to return on a new date this summer.
Organisers of the Hastings Town & Country Show have announced this year’s event will be held on a new weekend – Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7.
The family-friendly event will open at Alexandra Park at 10am and closes each day at 5pm.
A spokesman for organisers Oakleigh Fairs said: “Now in its seventh year, we are really looking forward to returning to Alexandra Park over this new date in June so as not to clash with other fun summer events.
“The park is just the perfect setting for a family based event – just a stroll or a bike ride from the town centre, with the stunning park itself providing the a lovely backdrop to what will be, once again a super weekend, offering the chance for families to relax and enjoy a really good day-out.”
This year’s line-up offers a host of attractions from children’s entertainment with a traditional Punch & Judy show, working dogs with John Cavana and a children’s farm to The Company of1415 Re-Enactment Group and ferret racing.
There will also be Newfoundland dog displays,Totally Terriers, birds of prey flying displays and on Sunday the Companion Dog Show, sponsored by Skinner’s Pet Foods.
Anyone can take along their dog and have a go with all proceeds from entries going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
For arts and crafts fans there will be stick furniture making and pole latheing skills to be sampled and bought in the marquees, as well as lifestyle and food stalls.
“So, whatever your interests there should be something for everyone at this two-day event,” said the spokesman.
The event is full catered and there is a licensed bar featuring real ale and scrumpy.
Entry is £5, £4 for concessions or £2 for children.
Family tickets, for two adults and two children, are £12.
