Bexhill punk mod indie garage rockers The Spiffing Good eggs will be playing upstairs at the Bexhill Rowing social Club this Saturday night, February 27.
Entrance is free but the band will be passing round a charity bucket for the Great Ormond St Childrens hospital for donations. The band will be on around 9pm and there will be also be a DJ unil late.
Three of the band are Bexhill rowers - Tony Page vocals, Remuna Picard guitar, and Mark Cowling drums. Bassist Jay Myerson teaches guitar at the Music Room in Devonshire Road, and lead guitar is Marcus ‘Macca’ Day.
The Spiffing Good Eggs were formed a couple of years ago when, whilst taking a breather out on the sea in their rowing boat, they started talking about forming a band. They have now built up their own following and have played the Carlisle in Hastings among other local gigs. They will be supporting punk legends The Lurkers there later on this year. They play a raunchy musically diverse set including songs from The Clash, Stranglers, The Hives, Dave Clarke Five, Screaming Lord Sutch and even Gerry Anderson.
