Proms picnic promises quality classical music

THIS evening of classical music and jazz stars Jessica Zhu, winner of the 2011 Hastings International Piano Concerto competition, along with Hastings-born pianist Natalie Malloy.

Also on the line-up are musicians from the Royal Academy, a wind trio, string quartet, jazz sextet, and classical guitarist duo.

The grounds open at 4.30pm, and there will be a bar on-site, and strawberries and cream available.

The concert starts at 6.30pm, with a picnic interval, and a firework display at 10pm. Dress code is Summer smart, and admission is by ticket only.

Ticket prices are as follows: promenader £20, includes entry and concert seat; diners £35, includes entry, picnic hamper, and concert seat; and premiere £60, includes champagne reception in Fairlight Hall, picnic hamper, covered and numbered concert seat.
