Debut for Emily

Despite being a relative newcomer to the UK folk scene, Emily's pedigree speaks for itself '“ a winner of the BBC Young Traditional

Musician of the Year in 2002, Emily has also been a nominee for Scots Singer of the Year 2005 as well as a host of other nominations and awards in the folk idiom.

A gifted interpreter of traditional folk, Emily is also an acclaimed songwriter, and as a singer, songwriter and musician has collaborated with many of the folk scene's finest, including Karine Polwart and John McCusker.

With her gorgeous, clear and emotive voice, it's not difficult to see why Emily is regarded as one of the folk scene's greatest young performers '“ a consummate stage performer whose maturity defies her tender years, Emily brings warmth, emotion, tenderness and beauty to every song she tackles.

As well as her fantastic vocals, Emily is also a great musician, expertly accompanying herself on accordion or piano, and for her Willows appearance Emily will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Jamie McClennan on guitar, fiddle and harmony vocals.

Emily's appearance at the Willows predates the release of her forthcoming album Too Long Away, scheduled for release in April and offers a fantastic opportunity for music lovers to get a taster of what the album will sound like.

With a fantastic evening in store from two great musicians, this is a gig that no music lover will want to miss.
