Hastings church concert will go online instead
The Friends of Holy Trinity, Hastings, are pleased to welcome pianist Johan de Cock and his singing wife Rachel.
They have decided to put on the concert they would have been giving in the lunchtime concert series that was cancelled this year, but they will be giving it online instead.
Spokesman Simon Scott said: “Starting at 1pm on Wednesday 1st July, the day on which they would have been performing in the church, they are providing a number of songs by George Gershwin, Harry Warren, Rogers and Hammerstein, Elvis Presley, Carole King, Queen and others on YouTube.
“As usual with the usual lunchtime concert series, it is provided free, although there will be a facility to raise funds for the purchase of the church’s magnificent digital organ that is currently on hire.
“Although the event will lack the atmosphere of being in an audience within the lovely church, and will also be lacking the refreshments normally on sale, the concert promises to provide a wonderful lunchtime break that the usual concert-goers have been missing this year.”
