World darts champ in town

WORLD CHAMPION Tony David heads a host of top names in action at a pre-Christmas professional darts extravaganza to be staged at the Famous Atha Showbar in Bexhill.

The Australian, who came from nowhere to clinch the Embassy title at the start of the year, will take on Hastings' own Shayne "The Bulldog" Burgess in a top-of-the-bill 1,000 challenge match.

The Eurodarts Promotions-backed evening at the Little Common Road venue on Saturday December 21 (7.30pm start) will feature three other winner takes all head-to-head encounters.

They are American No.1 Ray Carver v Mark Dudbridge, Reg Harding v Mick Manning and World Trophy semi-finalist and England international Andy "The Viking" Fordham v Dennis "Breezer Geezer" Smith, National CIU Winner and PDC ranked No.7.
