Unlucky break for Saints duo

ST LEONARDS are reeling after two of their top defenders were ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Tristan Wood suffered a broken arm and Tony Cornelius a broken leg in last weekend's 1-0 defeat against Erith & Belvedere.

Player-manager Gary Bowyer said: "It's a shame because they are two of my most important people. Just when we have got the defence sorted out this happens. I'm just really happy with the back four."

Saints are back at the Firs on Saturday (March 15) when Dartford visit in the Dr Martens Eastern Division.

Bowyer hopes to sign a former Crystal Palace youngster before the match as his squad is beset by injuries and suspensions.

Gavin Ramsden, Dean Thomas, Paul Henty and the player-manager himself are all banned, while Jody Ricketts (ankle) is a doubt. Dave Minnis should make his debut.
