Star-studded Lashings squad announced

The Kent-based side has named a 16-man party, all of whom have played at the highest level, with six different countries represented for the fourth 1066 Sporting Club Cricket Challenge against Hastings Priory on Thursday July 28.

The squad is headed by West Indies legend Alvin Kallicharran, who is the side's player-manager, and includes some previous visitors to the town, plus several new names, although it could all change come matchday.

A spokesman for Lashings said he expects a world class team to line up in the famous black strip as they seek revenge for last year's shock defeat to an on-fire Priory side.

"Although we won't know the final line-up until next week," the spokesman said, "the squad we send would grace any Test arena. And whatever the final side, it's going to be a memorable day for Hastings cricket-lovers."
