Sidley still hoping to lure White

SIDLEY United joint-manager Peter Heritage still hopes to lure Terry White to Gullivers despite interest from several clubs in the area.

Both Eastbourne Town and United have also contacted White about the possibility of acquiring his services. White was due to hold talks with Town, whose manager Dave Winterton played with him at Hastings Town, on Tuesday night.

But Heritage said: "I haven't really pestered him. I'm sure when he's ready, he'll give us a bell. We are still keeping our ears to the ground but he's got other things going on."

White added: "I'm keeping my options open if you like. I can't really totally commit myself to anyone but I wouldn't let anyone down."

Sidley entertain Selsey on Saturday January 25, kick-off 3pm. Jimmy Watson is still on holiday and Paul Balch remains unavailable. Lee Wood is a doubt with an ankle knock. United host Hailsham Town on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30.
