H&B not getting carried away

Hastings & Bexhill won’t be getting carried away by their flying start to the season.

The rugby club kicked-off its first campaign in Kent One with a very encouraging 30-10 success away to HSBC last Saturday after scoring 20 points without reply during the second half.

H&B coach Kevin Smith said: “It was a very good start. Everybody performed very, very well. I thought the backs gelled pretty well and I was very surprised with the way the forwards played as well considering they haven’t had as much time together as I would’ve liked in pre-season.

“But it’s early days and we mustn’t get carried away. It’s just one game and sometimes you catch teams cold a little bit.”

H&B are without a first team game today (Saturday) and will return to action next weekend at home to Beccehamian.
