Nearly 1,000 register for race

The one-off Bexhill-Hastings Link Road 10K race is expected to take place next May

Nearly 1,000 runners have registered on the waiting list at www.hastings-half.co.uk, which was the original entry target for the event.

Those on the waiting list will be given advance notice of the race date and entry details as soon as the date is announced, which is expected to be in January/February.

The event will take place along the new Bexhill-Hastings Link Road just prior to its anticipated opening in May 2015.

Entries are also coming in at a faster rate than previous years for the 31st Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday March 22, 2015.

Next year will be the 25th running of the Saga-sponsored Mini Run, a seafront race for children aged 11-16 which takes place during the half marathon.
