Myall could miss rest of season

HASTINGS United manager George Wakeling fears Stuart Myall may be out for the rest of the season after it was revealed the midfielder needs an operation on a persistent knee injury.

Myall has already missed a large chunk of the season after picking up the injury in October and Wakeling is fearing the worst:

"I think he will be out for the season", he said. "It looks like he needs an operation which he will probably have in the new year, so I don't expect him back for the rest of this season."

Myall was thought to be on the road to recovery after making a comeback last month, but the injury has not improved as had been hoped.

Hastings' Boxing Day home match against Havant & Waterlooville was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
