Runners are coming from far and wide for the 10th staging of the Hastings Runners Five Mile Race on Sunday morning.
None more so than Emily Murphy, who is set to take part in the event while visiting the town from Toronto in Canada.
Also expected is course record holder Paolo Natali and possibly his girlfriend Silvia Del Fava, the ladies’ course record holder. Both are from Italy.
The event - from which all proceeds will go to St Michael’s Hospice - is for runners of all abilities, though, and many fun runners have also entered.
It will start outside Hastings Town Hall at 10.30am and head along the seafront before returning to the town hall for the finish. A specially commissioned medal will be the reward for all finishers.
Postal entries have now closed, but you can enter at www.runnersworld.co.uk or www.runbritain.com until midnight tomorrow (Saturday).
A limited number of entries will also be available on race morning, on a strictly first come, first served basis. Registration will begin at 9am at the race HQ inside the town hall.
Early arrivals can utilise the free foot clinic kindly provided by Martin and Angie Parry, and the free massage services provided by Rebekah and Larry.
Hastings Runners would like to thank main sponsors Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, as well as John Nurse, Michael Hall Associates, Hastings Borough Council, Williams & Co, Dr Hannah Hughes and Paul Cabban.
There will be a brief moment of silence prior to the race in memory of Hastings Runners members Keith Chandler, Wilf Gay and Brenda Boyle.
