Lewis Crathern: email from Cape Town

Good morning Richard, hope you are well.

I'm having a blast in Cape Town at the moment although I hear its been very windy back at home! I saw the photos of the wood everywhere wow I missed out on some interesting riding.

I am training out here, where its warm and windy every day. Maybe some nice photos would cheer the people of Worthing up. I have attached some above.

Also going on in Worthing at the moment and kitesurfing, My friend Lance Nunn (also a professional kitesurfer) and I have teamed up with an Arts Council Of England-backed Project known as the "The CAMERA Project"

This has been created to inject a new style of creative learning into local schools around our area by bringing in local professionals from the work environment. Lance and myself both attended these meetings during the end of summer last year and it's developed well now.

To be sitting amongst creative music, business and other professionals was great but even better some of my college teachers!

Before I left for Cape Town we had covered assemblies at both St Andrew's High School in Worthing and also Angmering School who we are working with a lot more now.

Lance has continued on while I am training here and he is working with a class of Year 9 students, teaching them how to make a good kiteboard design. Real kiteboards that we use have been bought up and students are painting them and we are set to test them sometime soon on a Worthing beach.

Lance has more info on this project and will write to you shortly.

Enjoy the winds at home!
