Harbour set to host 5K race

The second race in the Rye Summer Classic Series will take place this evening (Friday).

After kicking-off with a 10K race last month, the series will continue with a 5K run which will get under way from 7pm at Rye Sailing Club.

The series is now in its seventh year and organisers Nice Work look forward to welcoming all runners to try their luck on the fast and flat course through Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

It will be possible to turn up and enter this evening. There is also a children’s race which will start around 6.45pm and finish prior to the start of the main 5K race.

Sponsored by The Emperor’s New Shoes, the leading male and female runner after the final race of the series on September 14 will win a pair of shoes of their choice.
