GOLF_PYECOMBE LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

PYECOMBE Golf Club ladies championship was held in brilliant sunshine, over 36 holes.The winner, as has been the case for several years in a row, was scratch golfer Aileen Greenfield (73+76=149 gross).

Her recent knee operation meant that Aileen was given a dispensation to use a buggy.Runner-up for the scratch prize was Alison Vermes (hcp 7), 78+86 = 164, and third was Angie Bainbridge (hcp 14) 87+86 = 172.

Nett winner was Joy Millns, who has only been a member since April and plays off 25. She had a gross 186 nett 136. Best morning nett score was 73 by Lisa Malaws, a professional golf caddie, and best nett pm score was 73 by Jane Fairfax. Pat Dosseter won the golden putter award for taking only 29 putts in the morning.
