Hastings-based Nessling, of Cooden Beach Golf Club, came tied second in the Winter Series with Titleist & FootJoy event at The London Club.

Nessling carded a two-under-par round of 70 to finish alongside Christopher Rodgers (Drift Golf Club) and just one behind winner Benn Barham (Kings Hill Golf Club), a former European Tour player.

Playing in the last group out, Nessling carded five birdies and three bogeys at a club which until recently hosted the European Open on the

top level European Tour.

A field of 75 players contested the event in atrocious weather conditions with heavy rain causing play to be suspended on several occasions due to flooded greens.

Nessling also finished 13th in the Kent Spring Classic Pro-Am at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club last Thursday and eighth in the Costa del Sol

Overseas PGA Pro-Am in Spain at the end of February.
