Clubs will have to go with what they’ve got for the last few weeks of the Ryman Football League Division One South campaign after the transfer deadline passed on Monday.

White said: “I couldn’t have tried any harder to get a centre-half, but they seem to be a real rarity. I’ve got four good forwards at the club and I know full well if I had four good centre-halves and was chasing a centre-forward, they would’ve all been taken, but it’s just the way it goes.

“I’m quite happy with the squad we’ve got from now till the end of the season. Obviously I would’ve liked to have added a couple more, particularly at centre-half, but sometimes in the face of adversity it makes some of the better, more senior players step up which I think some of them have done.”

White is hopeful that injured trio Tim Olorunda, Tom Vickers and Frankie Sawyer will be fit for the trip to Three Bridges tomorrow (Saturday).

Speaking after Monday’s goalless draw at home to Faversham Town, he said: “Tonight was way too soon for all three of them, but Frankie, Tim and Tom should all hopefully be fit for Saturday. That’s three of my big players and if we get three points Saturday, there’s no damage done tonight.”
