Peacehaven - who won the Sussex County Football League title last season - are 13 points clear at the top of the table with 101 points from 42 games and that advantage could increase if they avoid defeat in their game in hand at Herne Bay tonight (Thursday).

United continue to occupy the final play-off place of fifth and their cause was helped by sixth-placed Burgess Hill Town losing 2-1 away to Faversham Town last night. United are three points ahead of the Hillians and seventh-placed Merstham with three matches remaining.

Although their goal difference is worse than Burgess Hill’s and Merstham’s, United will hope that wins in their final two home encounters against 18th-placed Whitstable Town on Saturday and second-bottom Crawley Down Gatwick the following weekend will be enough to scrape into the play-offs.
