The U’s went down 2-1 against bottom half side Sittingbourne in Ryman Football League Division One South with the damage being done by a pair of strikes late in the first half.

Sittingbourne opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Ryan Golding converted a Luke Girt cross at the second attempt after United goalkeeper Josh Pelling did well to save his first effort.

United continue to occupy the final play-off place, though, because Merstham were beaten 3-2 away to Hythe Town. Folkestone Invicta, the other team in and around them playing tonight, won 3-0 away to Walton & Hersham.
