United eager to open account

Hastings United will be looking to pick up their first points of the season tonight (Tuesday).

The U’s will contest the opening away fixture of their Ryman Football League Premier Division campaign against East Thurrock United.

Hastings kicked-off their programme with a single goal defeat at home to Wingate & Finchley on Saturday, Leon Smith scoring the only goal after half-an-hour.

East Thurrock - who pipped Wingate to the Division One North title last season - won by the same scoreline away to Tooting & Mitcham United thanks to an 84th minute goal from Kayan Kalipha. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
