Tursun's contract cancelled without even playing for Reds

Alper Tursun has had his contract cancelled at Crawley Town with the defender heading back to Turkey.

The 23-year-old signed a one-year deal at the Checkatrade Stadium just 33 days ago and has not played a competitive match for the club.

The London-born player has been allowed he sign for a new club in Turkey - where he spent the previous two years before joining Reds in July.

He played a limited part in Reds’ pre-season games and becomes one of the club’s shortest-ever serving players.

Head coach Dermot Drummy said: “Alper has had a good offer to play in Turkey and it’s been mutually agreed with him that he can leave. We wish him all the best for the future.”
