The Blues posted a message on social network site Twitter yesterday to say the Sussex County Football League Division One game - called-off last night due to the snow - was to be put back 48 hours, but that is no longer the case and it will be played at a later date.

Sidley assistant manager Jamie Podmore, meanwhile, says the fixture pile-up facing the club is probably the worst he’s ever been involved with. The Blues still have 14 Sussex County Football League Division One fixtures and at least one cup tie remaining.

There are only seven Saturdays between now and the scheduled end of the season on April 27. Podmore said: “It’s probably the worst (fixture backlog) I’ve been involved with as a player or coach. It’s crazy.”

Matt Darby should be fit for the visit from Lancing on Saturday and Kenny Pogue is expected to be available. Sidley have had no further contact from the league following their response to the charge of fielding an ineligible player in a John O’Hara League Cup quarter-final tie.

Sidley United’s remaining fixtures (subject to change): March 16 Lancing (h), March 19 East Preston (h), March 21 Bexhill Utd (h) Hastings & District FA Senior Cup semi-final, March 23 Lingfield (a), March 26 Worthing Utd (h), March 30 AFC Uckfield (h), April 1 Rye Utd (h), April 6 Hassocks (h), April 9 Arundel (h), April 11 Rye Utd (a), April 13 East Grinstead Town (h), April 16 Shoreham (h), April 20 East Preston (a), April 27 Arundel (a), tbc Crowborough Athletic (a).
