Selsey won't want to be generous in charity cup

Selsey will turn their attentions to the RUR Charity Cup this weekend after a difficult week in the league and Sussex Senior Cup.

Adam Hinshelwood’s team slipped to a 2-0 league defeat to Lingfield at the Sports Pavilion last weekend and have slipped back down to 15th in the table – although the Blues are still well clear of most of the sides below them.

In midweek they were outclassed by Ryman League division-one south outfit Burgess Hill, who won 6-1 at the High Street Ground in the county cup with three goals in each half.

Fred Foreman scored a hat-trick for the Hillians, Pat Harding scored two and Quentin Conteh scored a superb goal.

Selsey have now followed a run of five straight wins with three defeats on the bounce and will look to get back to winning ways when they go to Westfield in the RUR Cup on Saturday.

Their next scheduled game is a league match at home to St Francis Rangers on November 5.
