The Sussex County Football League Division One fixture was called-off yesterday evening due to the snow which brought many of the area’s roads to a standstill and left commuters facing some nightmare journeys home.

It’s the second game Rye have had postponed in the space of four days as their fixture backlog becomes even worse. The Quarterboys still have 17 matches to cram in between now and the scheduled end of the season on Saturday April 27.

With temperatures forecast to barely get above freezing today, Sidley United’s match away to Crowborough Athletic in Sussex Division One and the Division Two derby between Bexhill United and Westfield must also be in doubt. Further updates will follow as and when news arrives.
