Rye and Bexhill win again

Rye United and Bexhill United chalked up away victories last night (Tuesday).

Rye won 3-2 against AFC Uckfield in Sussex County Football League Division One and Bexhill triumphed 4-2 over Saltdean United in Division Two.

All the goals came in the second half as Rye made it four points from a possible six at the start of their 2012/13 campaign by beating an Uckfield side which they drew with twice last term.

Jack Franklin and Matt Maclean put Rye two-up, and although Uckfield pulled one back, Maclean’s fourth in three games made it 3-1. Uckfield nabbed a late second, though, and hit the woodwork at the death.

Bexhill made it two wins out of two and eight goals in the process. All of their goals came during the first half with Jack Aston, Steve Mote, Dan Hill and Casey Ham on target. Ham’s goal was his third in four days.
