The Pirates have lost five and drawn two of their last seven matches in all competitions, and conceded 13 goals in their last four games.

“I would say it is the toughest,” said Munday, who took charge at The Polegrove in summer 2014. “We’ve ended up having such a bad run of form and it is tough.

“It’s predominantly been cup matches. Obviously we’ve only picked up one point in recent (league) games, but if we’re going to still be in with a shout, we’ve got to stop it before the league games come thick and fast.

“We’ve got a lot of our stronger players half injured and what we’re replacing it with maybe hasn’t got that experience. We just seem to be struggling all over, especially creating. I’ve got probably one fit forward player in the whole squad.”

Bexhill’s latest setback was a 3-1 loss at home to Ringmer in round one of the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday night.

“We were poor and I think we got what we deserved,” continued Munday. “We didn’t help ourselves and I would’ve said that was a fair result.

“We did say to the lads on Tuesday night, if things don’t change, and soon, we will have to look to make some changes. We will be looking for wholesale changes if things don’t improve because it’s not good enough.

“I don’t think there’s anyone who came off that pitch and could say ‘I did well’ - and I think they would all agree with me. I at least expect a bit of desire and a bit of passion, but there was nothing.”

Munday is demanding a positive reaction from his players when Bexhill travel to Lingfield in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One tomorrow (Saturday).

Bexhill are two points and two positions behind seventh-placed Lingfield with two games in hand.

“I expect a performance come Saturday,” he added. “We’ve got another tough game with a depleted squad. We’re in a bit of a rut, we’re struggling and we’ve got to get a win. They’ve got to step up, everyone. ”

Andy Garman is being rested in order to get him 100% fit and Kevin Barden is nursing a cracked rib. George Aston is suspended and Josh Elliott-Noye is away, but Chris Cumming-Bart is set to play as he’s cup-tied with parent club Hastings United.

“That’s a big help for us,” added Munday, who himself hopes to play despite putting a nail through his finger at work last week. “For me he’s a class player and he can get something out of nothing.”
