Both sides will be desperately hoping the Ryman Football League Premier Division match beats the sudden cold snap having had their games postponed on Saturday because of waterlogged pitches.

Although in ninth place, Kingstonian have lost their last four league games so United, who have conceded just one goal in their last four fixtures in all competitions, will be hopeful of a positive result at Kingsmeadow.

The teams have yet to meet this season with the reverse fixture at The Pilot Field scheduled for the final day of the campaign on Saturday April 27. United player-manager Sean Ray will complete his four-match ban tonight in a match which will kick-off at 7.45pm.

United remain third-from-bottom despite the cancellation of their trip to Bury Town on Saturday. Although Cray Wanderers pulled off a surprise 4-2 win at Met Police, results elsewhere didn’t work out too badly for the U’s.

Lewes’s bad run continued with a 2-1 loss at home to Canvey Island, while bottom club Carshalton Athletic lost 4-0 at East Thurrock United. Yesterday’s match between Wingate & Finchley and Thurrock was abandoned after Wingate had five players sent-off.

It is believed to be the first time in the league’s 108-year history that a game has been abandoned for this reason. The league will make a decision about the result of the game at the earliest opportunity.
