Long-time leaders knocked off perch

Rye United have been knocked off the top of the Sussex County Football League table.

Three Bridges moved a point above Rye with a game in hand courtesy of a 5-1 victory at home to bottom club Chichester City last night (Tuesday).

It means that the Crawley side will be crowned champions if they pick up all three points at home to Peacehaven & Telscombe on Saturday.

Anything less than a victory, though, and Rye could still clinch their first ever Division One title with a final day win away to Bridges on Saturday April 28.
