Hastings United are looking to make it four wins from their first four games as they visit Burgess Hill Town tonight (Tuesday).
The U’s currently sit second in the fledgling Ryman Football League Division One South table and will be eager to continue their fine form against a Town side which has won twice and lost once so far.
Despite lacking a permanent manager, United have enjoyed their best start to a season since 1991/92 under caretaker bosses Mark Stapley and Terry White, with goals from Jamie Crone and Sam Adams giving them a 2-1 victory over Redhill on Saturday.
Last season’s supporters’ player of the year Danny Ellis has completed a three-match ban and could be included in the squad, while Akwasi Fobi-Edusei may make his full debut having sustained an injury in pre-season. Kick-off is 7.30pm.
Elsewhere tonight, Rye United take on fellow Sussex County League Division One side Arundel in an FA Cup extra preliminary round replay after an uneventful first meeting ended 0-0 on Saturday.
Although Rye are technically the home team, the game will be played at Arundel with a 7.45pm kick-off as Rye’s home ground, The Salts, is still in the hands of the town’s cricket club.
In Sussex County League Division Two, Little Common travel to Seaford Town. Common will be seeking to build on the momentum from a last-gasp 2-1 win at home to Rustington on Saturday against a Seaford side which has drawn its only league so far. Kick-off at The Crouch is 7.30pm.
