Bexhill United manager Marc Munday is relishing the prospect of facing what he considers the best team in the division.
The Pirates will travel to Haywards Heath Town in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One tomorrow (Saturday).
Munday said: “I look forward to these games. Haywards Heath are a great side and for me they’re the best team in the league this year.
“They’ve got a bit of everything and I feel they’re the team to beat, but that’s the one you want to beat. We know that if we’re at the races, we can beat anyone on our day.”
Fourth-placed Heath have won 10 of their 11 league matches so far and are six points behind the leaders with three games in hand. They were also 5-1 winners in September’s reverse fixture.
Bexhill are in eighth place, but will make the trip to Hanbury Park buoyed by last weekend’s 6-1 thrashing of Steyning Town as they seek to chalk up back-to-back wins for the first time since August.

“I just hope we can get the same side out,” added Munday, who will be without the unavailable Nathan Tudor. “The difference it makes when you actually go out there with a starting XI you trained with in the week before...We’re a good side and we just haven’t had the opportunity to show it this year.”
Munday has filled Bexhill United’s goalkeeping void with a Hastings United academy prospect. Elliot Stokes signed for the Pirates on Wednesday and is expected to make his debut away to Haywards Heath.
Munday said: “He’s had no senior football, but he’s going to get an opportunity to play for our first team on Saturday.
“I’m hearing good things about him so as long as he’s half sensible, he’s got a fighting chance. If he takes his opportunity, he could be there for the season.”
The goalkeeping void has arisen because Yankuba Camara is in Gambia at present, and Mateusz Szafranski is proving uncontactable and Munday has been told by a representative of the Polish player that he is unavailable to play football.
