The U’s will travel to Folkestone Invicta in a Ryman Football League Division One South third versus fifth encounter which could have a significant bearing on how the leading positions pan out come the season’s end.

Despite struggling for form of late, United continue to occupy the final play-off place. They are three points above sixth-placed Burgess Hill Town, who drew 1-1 at bottom-of-the-table Eastbourne Town last night (Monday), and only trail fourth-placed Guernsey on goal difference.

Victory tonight would move them within three points of Folkestone with three games to play, but the formbook would favour the Kent outfit with United having lost seven of their last 11 matches on their travels and Invicta having won eight of their last nine on home soil.

In addition to the injury which could rule out key midfielder Tom Vickers for the remainder of the campaign, United striker Trevor McCreadie has left the club in the wake of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat away to Horsham. Kick-off tonight is 7.45pm.

Guernsey are also in action tonight with a trip to fourth-bottom Redhill, while Burgess Hill have another game pencilled in for tomorrow night away to ninth-placed Faversham Town.
