Interviews under way for Hastings job

Hastings United chairman Dave Ormerod says the football club expects to appoint a new first team manager next week.

The club began interviewing selected candidates this week after the deadline for applications passed at the end of last week.

He said: “We’ve had some interviews and it’s going well; it’s just a question of picking the right man. I would say it would be next week some time.”

Previous manager Garry Wilson and his assistant Danny Bloor stepped down at the end of the 2015/16 season after leading United to seventh place in Ryman Football League Division One South.

* HASTINGS United Supporters’ Club will hold its next quarterly general knowledge quiz tomorrow (Friday) in The Pilot Field clubhouse, 7.30pm start. Entry is £2.50 per person, and there will also be prizes, snacks and a raffle.
