Perennial promotion candidates YM have suffered from inconsistency this season.

The Gorings Mead outfit sit 12th in the division having taken 33 points from 28 games.

With a charge to the league’s upper echelons looking unlikely, Miller wants YMCA to put together a good run of late-season form to put them in good stead for the next campaign.

He said: “It’s important we finish the season upbeat because that’s sort of what starts the planning again for the season after.

“A lot of people, if you finish on a down, suddenly think ‘oh I’ll get back into it’ but if they’re buzzing at the end of it, they keep themselves fitter and it makes it easier for next season.

“We need to concentrate on next season but also we’ve got business to do this year.

“We need to get a few wins just to settle our season down.

“This week I’ll have 22 players to choose from so that will be even more of a headache, but I’d rather have that headache than us scratching around for players.”
