Although already relegated, Hastings United will be keen to end an epic season on a high today (Saturday).

The U’s - who were consigned to the drop from the Ryman Football League Premier Division following a 1-0 defeat at East Thurrock United on Thursday night - are set to host Kingstonian in their 61st and final fixture of the 2012/13 campaign.

United would dearly like to chalk up just a fourth home league win of the term against a mid-table Kingstonian side which they beat 1-0 in the reverse fixture on April 8 thanks to a Danny Ellis goal.

The U’s have picked up just one point and scored three goals in their last six games, however, amid a frantic late season fixture schedule. Kingstonian have had an extra day to prepare for the match following their 2-2 draw at Leiston on Wednesday.

It would come as little consolation, but a win for United would lift them off the bottom if Carshalton Athletic fail to do likewise at Enfield Town. A draw would only be sufficient if Carshalton lose by three or more goals.

Elsewhere today, Rye United will take on Dorking Wanderers in a Sussex County Football League Division One ‘home’ fixture to be played at Ringmer FC with The Salts now in the hands of Rye Cricket Club.

Nothing less than a win will do for Little Common at home to Wick in their pursuit of the third promotion place from Sussex Division Two, while Bexhill United will begin life after Darrol Parris with a trip to relegation threatened Rustington.

Also in Division Two, Westfield will travel back to Storrington exactly two weeks after the same fixture was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch early in the second half with Westfield just having gone 3-0 up.
