Hastings headline busy afternoon

Hastings United headline a busy afternoon of football for local clubs in scorching conditions.

The U’s will kick-off their Ryman League Premier Division campaign with a tough-looking trip to a Hampton & Richmond Borough side relegated from Blue Square Bet South last term.

Elsewhere, Rye United will seek to make it seven Sussex County League Division One points from a possible nine when they travel to a Worthing United team which is yet to get off the mark.

Sidley United will be without star striker Dominic Clarke as they head to Pagham in the same division. Pagham have won three out of three so far in all competitions, while Sidley have won two out of three and lost the other 9-1.

In Sussex County League Division Two, Little Common will be hoping for more of the same following their 4-0 success at Wick last weekend when they entertain Midhurst & Easebourne, who drew their first game at Saltdean United.

And Westfield will endeavour to put behind them the disappointment of letting a two-goal lead slip at home to Oakwood last weekend when they host Loxwood. Bexhill United are fixtureless at their own request.

All matches will kick-off at 3pm.
