Hastings United will travel to Tonbridge Angels in a Ryman League Alan Turvey Trophy (sponsored by Robert Dyas) second round tie and Little Common will host Oakwood in round three of the Macron Store Southern Combination League’s Peter Bentley Challenge Cup.

The draw couldn’t have worked out much tougher for United because Tonbridge are third in the Premier Division, and boast the division’s best defensive record and the best goal difference.

United are 19th in Division One South, although no team in the division has played fewer matches. Garry Wilson’s side suffered its first defeat in seven cup matches this season when Poole Town knocked United out of the FA Cup at the weekend.

Clubs often use the Alan Turvey Trophy as a chance to give their squad players valuable game-time and United did that in the previous round back in August when they won 3-2 at home to Hythe Town. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Little Common, meanwhile, will be aiming to make it five cup wins out of six this term when they take on fellow Division One side Oakwood, who face a long journey down from Crawley for a 7.15pm kick-off.

Oakwood are second in the league - nine points and six places above Common having played an extra game. The teams have yet to meet this term, although they will also face each in the league at Oakwood on the final day of the month.

Common have already won two matches in the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup (away to Haywards Heath Town and at home to Bexhill United), and if they make it a hat-trick tonight, they will visit Broadbridge Heath or Selsey in the quarter-finals.
