Ham heading for Polegrove exit?

Bexhill United’s midweek goalscorer looks to be on his way out of the football club.

Casey Ham, who was on target in the 1-1 draw at home to Eastbourne United AFC on Tuesday night, could be about to join local rivals Westfield.

Ham joined Bexhill in the summer having made his mark at senior level by scoring 16 goals for fellow Sussex County League Division Two side Little Common last season, including a penalty against Bexhill on Easter Monday.

But he has failed to establish himself as a regular in Bexhill’s starting line-up and contacted Westfield expressing an interest in moving to The Parish Field.

Despite his impressive showing against Eastbourne, Ham was adamant it was his last game for Bexhill when speaking to the club’s joint managers afterwards.

If Ham does decide to move to Westfield, he may have to wait a while because Bexhill seem intent on insisting that a seven-day approach is issued for the player.

FA rules dictate that clubs cannot issue more than one approach to another club in a 28-day period and Westfield made an enquiry about Liam Miles late last month.
