The Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One rivals will meet at Little Common Recreation Ground in round two of the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup. Kick-off is 7.15pm.

And if tonight’s game if anything like as good as the previous two - which have produced a massive 15 goals - it should be well worth watching.

Common won 4-3 after extra-time in a Peter Bentley Challenge Cup third round tie on October 13 and the league meeting between the clubs on October 31 ended in a 4-4 draw after both teams scored in added time.

Third-placed Oakwood are seven positions and nine points above Common in the league having played two extra matches.

But Common’s cup form has been excellent. They’ve won six of their eight matches so far this term in the various knockout competitions and are into the quarter-finals in two of them.

At stake for the winners is a place in round three and a possible encounter against one of the county’s leading clubs. Common faced Eastbourne Borough at that stage of last season’s competition.
