Rye United could come up against two former professional footballers tonight (Wednesday).
Nicky Forster and Ian Pearce may be part of the Lingfield side which visits The Salts in Sussex County League Division One.
Ex-Brighton & Hove Albion striker Forster has scored 11 goals in Lingfield’s last six games, while one time Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United and Fulham defender Pearce has netted once.
Lingfield, nonetheless, are only eighth in the table with nine points from five games, while Rye are riding high at the top with 20 points from eight outings and have won their last six matches in all competitions.
Rye are likely to field a similar side to that which beat Three Bridges 3-0 on Saturday. Allan McMinigal and Josh Pelling are thought to be a couple of weeks away from fitness.
Kick-off at The Salts is 7.30pm and details of what happens will appear on this website tomorrow morning.
