Morris signed as a player in 2006 and became club chairman. A persistent knee injury has forced his retirement as a player, and work commitments have also forced him to step down as the club chairman.

Brown has been involved with the club for many decades, but he hopes to continue as a player, and he will remain as the club treasurer.

The new secretary is Mick Southon, who will combine this role with being the men’s first-team manager.

A club statement said: “The club would like to put on the record their thanks to both Wayne and Andy for all their hard work and loyalty over the years.

“The search is now on to find a new club chairman.

“Tony Coker will continue as the youth secretary and the club will field sides at under-11, 14 and 15 for the forthcoming season.

“The club will field two men’s sides in divisions one and three of the East Sussex Football League.

“The men’s teams are in pre-season training, and they are fortunate to have the well known local coach Rade Poppi’ Popovic putting the players through their paces.”

Southon said: “The club are very fortunate to have a coach of Poppi’s ability, and he is ensuring that

the players are probably fitter than they have ever been.

“This is likely to be very important as Division 1 of the East Sussex Football League is looking very competitive for next season.”

New players are always welcome and the men’s sides train Saturdays at 10am and Tuesdays at 6pm in Barley Lane (TN35 5DX).
