Crawley heading to Pilot Field?

Hastings United could face Crawley Town in the quarter-finals of the Sussex Senior Cup.

Both clubs firstly need to win their last 16 ties, however, with Ryman League Premier Division outfit United away to Sussex County League leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe and Crawley up against Sussex Division Two side Newhaven on Wednesday February 13.

If it does happen, United are highly unlikely to face the sort of side Crawley regularly field in League One. The Red Devils generally field more of a development team in the Sussex Senior Cup.

Rye United, meanwhile, will travel to Eastbourne Town or Loxwood in the last eight if they win their third round tie away to fellow Sussex County League high-flyers East Preston on Tuesday night.

The quarter-final draw was made on Friday by Pat Murphy and Tony Miles of competition sponsors Parafix. Fixtures are scheduled to take place on February 26 or 27, subject to availability.

Hastings have so far knocked out Sussex Division One club Pagham, while Rye have won away to Ringmer and Ryman Division One South side Burgess Hill Town.

Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final draw: Hastings United or Peacehaven & Telscombe v Crawley Town or Newhaven; Bognor Regis Town v Eastbourne Borough; Brighton & Hove Albion or Lancing v Crowborough Athletic or Three Bridges; Eastbourne Town or Loxwood v East Preston or Rye United.
